Andy Cole has admitted that he is interested in becoming a coach after hanging up his boots.
The former England international only brought the curtain down on his glittering 19-year career on Tuesday, but is already planning for the future.
He has already been linked with a role at Paul Ince's Blackburn and he is keen to secure the relevant qualifications which will allow him to continue his association with the game.
"I am going to take a bit of time out and then I want to get on with my coaching badges," Cole told Sky Sports News.
"Hopefully if I can get that done, then you never know what could happen.
"I've been in the game a long time, and it's been my passion to do well in the game, so why not."
Having terrorised top flight defences for the majority of his career, Cole feels his experience could prove invaluable to the stars of tomorrow.
"People have asked whether goalscoring is an art or is it a bit of luck?" he said.
"I've been fortunate to get a few goals in my time so I'd like to pass on something."
