Norwich City have confirmed on-loan striker Maceo Rigters has suffered a torn hamstring.

Striker returns to Blackburn for treatment

Norwich City have confirmed on-loan striker Maceo Rigters has suffered a torn hamstring. Rigters joined the Championship club from Blackburn Rovers last month after struggling to make an impact at Ewood Park. He was making his second substitute's appearance for Norwich in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Bristol City, but lasted just 15 minutes after replacing Dion Dublin. Scans have shown that the Dutch forward has torn his hamstring and he has returned to Blackburn for treatment on the injury. Rigters, who impressed at last summer's European Under 21 Championship, could now miss the remaining weeks of the season with the problem. Meanwhile, Spanish full-back Juan Velasco is back in training with Norwich after not featuring for the first team in almost a month. Canaries boss Glenn Roeder told the Pink'un: "He's back in training with the physio and we should have him again at the beginning of next week."
