Blackburn Rovers star Tugay is waiting to find out if he will be handed a new deal at Ewood Park.
Tugay is coming to the end of his current contract and the Turkish midfielder is keen to prolong his stay.
The 37-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Rovers side this term and Mark Hughes has indicated he will make a decision on Tugay's future at the end of the season.
Tugay's agent Simon Munir has confirmed talks have taken place, but that they are still waiting on an offer from Rovers.
"Tugay definitely wants to do another year, so the ball is in Blackburn's court," Munir told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"We've had preliminary talks (about a new contract) but we haven't received any offer as yet.
"Tugay feels he can still play on for another year in the Premier League, and he wants to stay and finish his career at Blackburn, so I would hope he still has a role to play."
