Tugay has revealed his desire to sign a new one-year contract at Blackburn Rovers.

The vastly experienced midfielder is once again out of contract in the summer, but the 37-year-old is keen to carry on playing.

Tugay has been at Ewood Park since 2001 after being signed by Graeme Souness for £1.3million and has made over 150 Premier League appearances for the club.

The Turkish veteran is very happy with the Lancashire outfit and would have no hesitation in penning a fresh deal if Mark Hughes opted to put one on the table.

"I'm very happy at Blackburn and love the club and the fans so, of course, I would like to say here for another year," he said.
