Blackburn are considering handing a contract to Swiss international Johann Vogel.
The 30-year-old is available on a free transfer after securing his release from Real Betis earlier this season and is now looking to seal a move to England.
Vogel wants to find a club quickly in order to cement his place in Switzerland's Euro 2008 squad.
Everton have been long-term admirers but they are well stocked in midfield and opted against a move, which then saw him train with Sunderland.
A move to Wearside failed to materialise and he has now been training with Rovers.
Vogel is believed to have impressed Mark Hughes and his backroom staff and he could be handed a deal until the end of the season, with a view to a longer term contract.
