Frank Fielding has extended his loan deal with Wycombe until the end of the season.

The young goalkeeper arrived at Adams Park from Blackburn in September on a three-month contract and has impressed in his 16 games since, keeping six clean sheets and saving two penalties.

Wycombe had hoped to get the new deal agreed before Tuesday's game with Mansfield, but talks were delayed and the paperwork will finally go through on Friday.

The new agreement will keep Fielding at the club until 3rd May with an option to extend should the Chairboys make the League Two play-offs.

Exceptional talent

"I knew nothing about him when he arrived, but I know plenty about him now," Wycombe boss Paul Lambert told the club's official website.

"I make no apologies for saying that he's an exceptional talent who will go on to have an outstanding career at the highest level."

Fielding has also signed a new contract with Blackburn which will keep him at the club until 2010.
