Blackburn demand fee for Hodge

Shrewsbury Town have failed to sign Ben May from Millwall, who want to bring in Bryan Hodge permanently from Blackburn Rovers. Millwall had given May permission to talk to Shrewsbury, but the striker turned down a move to the League Two side. Reports suggest May is hopeful of joining a Championship club after spending a spell on loan at Scunthorpe United earlier this season. Meanwhile, the Lions have encountered frustration in their efforts to sign Hodge following the midfielder's loan spell at the Den. The youngster impressed for the League One club, but Lions boss Kenny Jackett is not willing to pay the fee Blackburn are demanding. In addition to losing Hodge, Jackett has also allowed defender Brent Sancho to leave the club at the end of his one-month contract. Adebayo Akinfenwa will also head out of Millwall when the striker's short-term deal expires on 15th January.
