New signing out to earn longer deal

Kenny Jackett has thrown down the gauntlet to Brent Sancho to earn a long-term contract at Millwall. Sancho has signed a one-month deal at the Den after joining on a free transfer following his departure from Gillingham in the summer. The 30-year-old could make his debut against Oldham on Saturday with Jackett looking to add some steel to his backline. And the Millwall boss has given Sancho the incentive to secure a more permanent arrangement with the League One club. "He has power and experience of this division which is something that in certain positions we've been lacking at times," said Jackett. "Brent has joined us on a short-term contract to try to earn the longer one which I feel he is capable of."
