Dutch striker is hoping for more opportunities
Dutch striker Maceo Rigters is trying to remain positive in the face of a lack of games for Blackburn.
Rigters has only made one starting line-up and four substitute appearances
since his move from NAC Breda for an undisclosed fee in the summer.
The 23-year-old is happy to continue to fight for a place, but would ultimately like to go out on loan if he cannot secure a start.
Frustrating
Speaking of his lack of opportunities, he told Dutch newspaper BN/De Stem: "Of course that is frustrating.
"But there are some very good players before me and when the club wins four games in a row, you know that you still have to wait for a chance."
Rigters' positive feedback follows a recent chat with Blackburn boss Mark Hughes, who told him he is still part of his plans.
He said: "Hughes told me that I have simply been unlucky and that the other strikers are doing so well. So who knows? I might be playing games in a couple of weeks."
A recent injury to fellow striker Roque Santa Cruz - who is struggling with tendinitis - could well improve Rigters' chances.
Loan
But the Dutch striker is willing to go out on loan if he cannot command a starting place.
He said: "If that is not the case, I want to see the club loan me out as soon as possible. But I am not thinking about that yet."
