Blackburn midfielder Tugay is hoping to win a two-year deal at Ewood Park.
Rovers have opened talks with the Turkish international about extending his stay at the club.
Tugay's current deal expires in the summer and the former Rangers man would be happy to tie himself down to a new contract.
"I think I can continue for two more years at this level," said Tugay.
"I am hoping to stay as the Premiership is currently where every player wants to be.
"The club has become like a second family to me. I am happy both on and off the pitch.
"There has never been any reason for me to want to leave here."
