Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has no intention of bringing forward a decision on Shabani Nonda's future, despite the striker's crucial contribution on Wednesday evening.
The on-loan Roma man emerged from the bench to score a late goal in the 3-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, giving Rovers a glimmer of hope ahead of the second leg of the Uefa Cup last 32 tie.
Nonda's input has largely been overshadowed by Benni McCarthy's exploits this season but the Congolese star has still claimed five Premiership goals since his summer move from Serie A.
Following the game in Germany, Hughes insisted he will withhold judgement over whether to make a permanent move for the striker until the summer.
"We have an option on him, and a decision will be made at the appropriate time," said Hughes. "That is the end of the season."
