Blackburn manager Mark Hughes believed his team could have claimed a more emphatic victory against Middlesbrough.
Benni McCarthy's second-half winner sealed a 2-1 Rovers win, and Hughes was delighted to follow up a Boxing Day win over Liverpool with another three points.
Hughes was particularly pleased by the performance of McCarthy as well as fellow striker Shabani Nonda who also got on the scoresheet in a match played out in pouring rain.
Ç£I thought the goals were great on the day - I thought the two front guys were excellent,Ç¥ Hughes told skysports.com.
Ç£It was never going to be pretty - it was muck and bullets.
Ç£It was a difficult game for both sides. We like to get Tugay involved but it wasn't the game for him today.
Ç£I thought we could have won by more at the end but in fairness Boro caused us some problems at the start of the second half.
Ç£That's four wins in five for us so we and we have an opportunity on Monday to get near last season's tally.
Ç£We hoped to capitalise on the win against Liverpool and we've done that.Ç¥
