Blackburn are set to complete the signing of Gillingham goalkeeper Jason Brown on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at The Priestfield Stadium and is believed to be undergoing a medical with the Premiership club on Monday.

The Wales international is expected to provide back-up for established number one Brad Friedel.

Brown's imminent departure will be a bitter blow for Gills boss Ronnie Jepson, especially with the news that player-coach Paul Crichton has joined non-league Cambridge on a two-year deal.

The 37-year-old keeper only made one first team appearance last term as he combined his playing duties with a role on the club's backroom staff.
