Blackburn Rovers winger Morten Gamst Pedersen has explained his reasons for snubbing the interest from Tottenham Hotspur to stay at Ewood Park.
The 24-year-old put pen-to-paper on a new four-year deal with Rovers last week after enjoying a successful second season in The Premiership to help the Lancashire club to a top-six finish.
His nine league goals and numerous assists last term alerted Tottenham to his abilities but Blackburn were always confident of holding on to one of their prize assets.
Pedersen has since revealed that he was keen to remain with Mark Hughes' men as they prepare for Uefa Cup football at the club next season.
"A good contract means a lot, but I am happy at Blackburn and got the confidence from the coach," Pedersen told VG.
"That is important. Additionally, we shall play in Europe in the Uefa Cup, that is all new to me."
