South Korean ace Ahn Jung-hwan has completed his move to Bundesliga strugglers Duisburg.

Ahn has signed an 18-month contract after failing to settle in France.

Zebras chairman Walter Hellmich confirmed: "Ahn has signed a contract with us until 2007, and that completes our transfer plans for the moment."

Duisburg manager Jurgen Kohler added: "He was a player I was very keen on signing."

Premiership side Blackburn had also been interested in the 30-year-old, but cancelled his planned trial at Ewood Park after Ahn wanted assurances over a permanent deal.

Ahn reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2002 with South Korea, scoring a goal to knock out Italy along the way.

The former Perugia player failed to show his qualities in France scoring only twice in 16 appearances for Metz.
