Plymouth have signed Blackburn forward Matt Derbyshire on a season-long loan.
Championship side Plymouth have signed Blackburn forward Matt Derbyshire on a season-long loan.
Argyle manager Bobby Williamson has moved for the 19-year-old after previously expressing an interest in fellow Rovers striker Jemal Johnson.
"Matt is a terrific young talent who will give us extra options," the former Kilmarnock manager told the club's official website.
"I wish him all the best for his time here and hope that he shows everyone what a good footballer he is.
"Matt's got the potential and I believe he can be successful if he gets the breaks."
Williamson will hope that the youngster is able to pep up The Pilgrims' attack which has struggled for goals this campaign, with the Devon side failing to score in their last four league matches.
Derbyshire made his first team debut for Blackburn as a substitute in Rovers' final home game of last season against Fulham after signing from local side Great Harwood Town in November 2003.
