Blackburn Rovers defender Vratislav Gresko will be out for the rest of the season.

The Slovakian stopper has suffered cruciate ligament damage and Rovers have confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the season.

The 27-year-old picked up the injury playing for his country against Slovenia a fortnight ago and the news is a big blow to the club.

"Vratty returned from international duty with an injury," Rovers doctor Phil Batty told the club website.

"Tests have revealed cruciate ligament damage and unfortunately he will be out of action for several months."

Gresko figured in Blackburn's opening three games of the season but has only played once for new boss Mark Hughes.
