Blackburn boss Mark Hughes refused to blame Jay McEveley.Blackburn boss Mark Hughes refused to blame Jay McEveley for his part in Liverpool's equaliser in a 2-2 draw between the two sides.
McEveley took a free kick quickly and presented the ball straight to Luis Garcia - who promptly sent Milan Baros through to score - but Hughes thinks a lesson was learnt.
"Unfortunately for Jay - who had a great game - he had one lapse and it cost us," said Hughes.
"It's something a young player learns from and I doubt he will ever make that mistake again in his career.
"I was looking for his response to it and was delighted that he didn't let it affect his game.
"The other players encouraged him to get his head up and we got on with it - which was pleasing.
"I thought we were excellent from start to finish and I am disappointed not to get three points."
