Blackburn Rovers defender Lorenzo Amoruso has hit out at former boss Graeme Souness.

The Italian has accused the Newcastle manager of being stuck in the past with his training methods and claimed new Rovers boss Mark Hughes has turned the club around.

Amoruso is relishing the changes made by Hughes and is enjoying life at Ewood Park.

"Everybody knows that Graeme had some problems with some of the players," said Amoruso.

"I just got the feeling that these people were not made to be part of the same team.

"Mark has changed a lot of things and he is clearly from the new school of management.

"Graeme Souness was more from the old school and his training was old school because he had us doing a lot more running.

"Mark is different - training is all about concentrating on what we would do in a game."
