Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel is set to miss the last two games of the season and is struggling to be fit for the start of the United States's World Cup campaign.

The former Liverpool shot-stopper is suffering a stomach injury he sustained in last weekend's win over Manchester United.

The injury is set to sideline Friedel for Rovers' last two games of the season.

Finnish goalkeeper Peter Enckleman is set to deputuise in the absence of Friedel.

33-year-old Friedel is now a major doubt for the beginning of the USA's World Cup campaign which begins in the summer and his loss would be a major blow to Bruce Arena's men.
