Burnley's on-loan defender Jay McEveley will be out for around three months after suffering a dislocated knee in The Clarets' 2-0 FA Cup third round win at Mansfield.
The 18-year-old was stretchered off during the second half having suffered a similar injury to that of Rovers team-mate Barry Ferguson.
"Jay has dislocated his knee," Burnley manager Stan Ternent said after two goals from Ian Moore had won a fiery game for his side to end a run of four consecutive defeats.
"The knee is back in place now, but he'll be out for around 10-12 weeks.
"It's bad luck for us again and it seems to be one thing after another. He'll come home with us and it's just unfortunate."
