Birmingham could face an FA probe after referee Graham Barber confirmed he will be reporting a coin-throwing incident involving Blackburn's Brad Friedel during the match at St Andrews.

American keeper Friedel drew Barber's attention to events behind his goal at the Tilton End of the ground after Lucas Neill had scored the decisive second goal in Rovers' 4-0 win.

Friedel picked up and handed a coin apparently thrown in his direction to the official.

"There was an incident involving the Blackburn Rovers keeper during the second half and I shall be sending a report including of that off (to the FA) on Monday," Barber said.

Birmingham were fined last season after crowd problems during the derby with Aston Villa at St Andrews and one fan was subsequently jailed after confronting Peter Enckelman on the pitch.
