RENNES' Philippe Delaye is to spend a few days on trial with Premiership side Blackburn Rovers.
Delaye has fallen out of favour with new coach Laszlo Boloni and so the midfielder will attempt to impress Graeme Souness and earn a deal at Ewood Park.
The 28-year-old made 20 appearances for the Stade de la Route-de-Lorient outfit last season, scoring three goals along the way, as the club managed to preserve their top-flight status.
The number ten joined Rennes from Montpellier in 2000.
With David Dunn joining Birmingham City and Damien Duff, Keith Gillespie and Craig Hignett also departing Ewood Park, Souness knows his midfield department needs reinforcing and has already acted quickly to sign Brett Emerton and Stephen Reid as replacements.
Meanwhile, Rennes have also indicated that they are willing to loan out South American duo Mario Hector Turdo and Andres Jose Fleurquin.
