Bluebirds deny Hughes loan move

CARDIFF CITY have denied speculation over a loan move for Blackburn Rovers striker Mark Hughes.

A press spokesman at the Ninian Park club told planetfootball.com that no official move had been made to bring the current Wales manager back to his home country.

The 39-year-old hitman has seen little action at Ewood Park under boss Graeme Souness, as the veteran winds down his playing career.

On Hughes, the spokesman said: "Not that I'm aware of, unless the club have made an inquiry for him. No move for him (Hughes) has been made."

The spokesman also denied that The Bluebirds were making any loan moves for other strikers.

He said: "Peter Thorne is one game away from being ready and Robert Earnshaw, Gavin Gordon, and Leo Fortune-West are all back, so I don't see the club needing to sign another striker on loan."
