MICK McCARTHY has announced his Republic of Ireland team to face the Czech Republic at Lansdowne Road on Wednesday.

The Irish face a difficult match against the Czech`s, who were unbeaten in their Euro 2000 qualifying campaign.

Alan Kelly will start ahead of Newcastle`s Shay Given in goal and Paul Butler, the Sunderland central defender will make his debut at the heart of the Irish back division, alongside Kenny Cunningham. The Leeds duo of Gary Kelly and Ian Harte will patrol the flanks.

Charlton`s Mark Kinsella and Manchester United`s Roy Keane form an impressive central midfield and with the in-form Mark Kennedy on one wing and the talented Kevin Kilbane on the other, Ireland will be a creative force.

Niall Quinn and Robbie Keane, who have taken the Premiership by storm, will form a potent strike partnership.
