Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has laughed off suggestions that he could complete a shock move to North London rivals Tottenham.

The Germany international is yet to start a Premier League match for the Gunners this season and one report has linked him with a £10m switch to Spurs in January.

But he responded to the rumours with a message on Twitter, which comprehensively ruled out the transfer and pledged his loyalty to Arsenal.

Posting a link to the story, Podolski wrote: "Hell will freeze over before this transfer would happen. #Poldi #aha #AlwaysAGunner #NeverCheatYourClub #AFC #Redarmy".

The prospect of the 29-year-old arriving at White Hart Lane would have caused a stir, particularly after the player posed in a celebratory picture with his teammates after last season’s 1-0 away win.

Podolski, who joined from Cologne in the summer of 2012, is also thought to be a transfer target for Galatasaray after slipping behind Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order at the Emirates.
