Moussa Dembele is looking forward to renewing his partnership with Clint Dempsey after seeing the American join him at Tottenham Hotspur.
The two men already have a good understanding after playing together at Fulham for the past couple of seasons.
Dembele left Craven Cottage last week after Spurs agreed a fee for his services and Dempsey ended up following him to White Hart Lane just before Friday's deadline.
Dempsey was not signed in time to make his debut against Norwich City on Saturday, when Dembele came off the substitutes' bench to score a debut goal in a 1-1 draw.
The Belgian midfielder is confident Dempsey will be successful at Tottenham, having notched 23 goals last season.
"Clint always is so dangerous," Dembele said.
"I sent him a message saying I was very happy because he is a fantastic player. He is a good boy so I am very happy that he is here.
"He is so hungry to score goals. He fights a lot and it is fantastic to have him in the team.
"He works as hard as two men so I'd prefer to have him in my team rather than play against him."
