Lloris deal far from done

Spurs still in the process of trying to thrash out deal for keeper

Tottenham goalkeeping coach Tony Parks claims a deal for Hugo Lloris remains 'far from done', but admits he would welcome the arrival of the Lyon shot-stopper. Lloris was pictured arriving at Spurs' training ground earlier on Friday, with discussions set to be held regarding a deadline day move. The France international has been linked with a switch to White Hart Lane for some time, with Lyon announcing early on in the window that they would be forced to part with senior figures in an effort to raise funds. Tottenham have left it late, though, to try and piece together a deal for the highly-rated 25-year-old. An agreement would appear to have been reached with Lyon, freeing Lloris to head to London, but personal terms must be thrashed out before 11pm if a man widely regarded as one of the best in the business is to join a number of his fellow countrymen in the Premier League. "I have just seen him in the training ground with his father," Parks told Sky Sports News HD on his way out of Spurs' training complex.

Fantastic addition

"I think he is in the offices at the moment with the club secretary, but my understanding is that it is far from a done deal. "It's time to go home and prepare for the game tomorrow (against Norwich) and make sure the lads that are involved in that are given the best opportunity to succeed and get the three points. "If Hugo joins us, great, I think he will be a fantastic addition to our squad." Asked for his opinion on Lloris, who is the current captain of the France national side, Parks added: "I think he is a quality keeper. "Added to what we have already got in Brad Friedel - who I think is still one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, as he showed again last weekend - it strengthens the position and Brad will fight tooth and nail to keep it and it's up to Hugo to get the jersey off him."
