Tom Huddlestone: Set to join Stoke on a season-long loan

Tom Huddlestone is at Stoke City to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed loan switch from Tottenham Hotspur.

Sky Sports revealed on Tuesday that the Potters were the favourites to secure the midfielder's signature after Spurs agreed to let him go in search of regular game time following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Stoke have now confirmed that the 25-year-old is at the club's Clayton Wood training ground.

Huddlestone will agree a season-long agreement with Tony Pulis' side once all of the formalities of a move have been completed.

He will form part of a squad which opened the season with a 1-1 draw at Reading on Saturday, and his imminent arrival has been welcomed by those at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke winger Jermaine Pennant posted on his Twitter account: "I walked in training & got a shock saw my friend Tom Huddlestone... On loan till end of season good signing," he wrote.

"Yes it's true he's going to have a medical later if it's all good we have got him till the end of the season."
