France's manager among a number of White Hart Lane candidates

Sky Sports sources understand Tottenham are in preliminary negotiations with France boss Laurent Blanc as one of a number of their managerial candidates. The former Manchester United defender has emerged as a potential successor to Harry Redknapp due to the fact his contract with Les Bleus expires after Euro 2012. Blanc will take charge of France against Sweden in Kiev on Tuesday with the chance of reaching the knockout stages of this summer's international finals. But the 46-year-old is at the same time in informal discussions with Spurs, who are also holding talks with several other managers. Tottenham are looking for a new boss after sacking Harry Redknapp earlier in June and Everton's David Moyes, Wigan's Roberto Martinez and former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas have all been mentioned as potential targets. No official talks could possibly take place until France have finished participating in Euro 2012, but Blanc is thought to be keen to return to the Premier League. The former France international's impressive if short managerial career to date makes him an attractive option after winning a league and cup Double in his second season with Bordeaux in 2009. Blanc has also turned around France's fortunes since taking over in the wake of the 2010 World Cup embarrassment, with the nation currently on a 23-match unbeaten run.
