Injured-plagued defender Ledley King remains in talks with Tottenham about his future and wants to stay at club in some capacity.
Chronic knee problems have hampered King in recent seasons to limit his playing time at the North London club, with the 32-year-old not always able to train in between games.
The defender missed Spurs' last four matches this term due to injury and underwent minor surgery on his knee last month.
King, who has spent his entire career with Tottenham after penning his first professional deal in 1998, is out of contract at White Hart Lane this summer and is yet to sign a new contract.
He has been named on a list of Premier League players who are available for a free transfer this summer but says he is still in talks with Tottenham and will decide his future in pre-season.
The stopper, Spurs' longest-serving player, admits he will not necessarily return as a player next term, but is hoping to be involved in some capacity.
"I've been discussing things with the club and my contract expires this summer," he told Spurs'
official website.
"The club has been fantastic in supporting me and given me several options to stay involved with Tottenham. I shall take a view with them pre-season on my future.
"Tottenham has been the only club for me and if I can't play here then I shall look to be involved in another capacity."
Setback
King admits it was disappointing to suffer another injury setback after making a bright start to the campaign.
"I had a really good start to last season and was pleased to play as many games as I did," he added.
"A knock in training set me back towards the end, but I opted to carry on playing rather than take the time out to have the knee seen to.
"Unfortunately that meant that I didn't play the last few games at the standard I would have liked."
