Spurs defender looking to make the most of rare opportunity

Tottenham defender Danny Rose admits the 2011/12 campaign has been one of frustration for him, as he has been denied regular game time, but he is aiming to end on a high. The 21-year-old has been a victim of Harry Redknapp's reluctance to rotate his squad at White Hart Lane, with it having proved difficult for those on the fringes of the fold to force their way into the starting XI. Rose has been left kicking his heels on the sidelines for much of the season, with Benoit Assou-Ekotto holding down the left-back berth. The Cameroon international has picked up a late-season injury, though, and Rose has been drafted in as cover.

Opportunity

He is looking to make the most of a rare opportunity to shine and put the disappointment of being blocked from heading out on loan to the back of his mind. "It's been very frustrating," said Rose in the Daily Express. "I wanted to go out on loan at the start of the season and in January but I wasn't allowed. "It looks like I'm in the team for the last four games now so I've got to play well."
