Winger desperate to play in the Champions League again

Gareth Bale has indicated that he may have to consider his future in the summer should Tottenham fail to qualify for the Champions League. Harry Redknapp's men have spent the majority of the season in the top four but a run of just three wins from 14 Premier League games has seen them drop to fifth. The White Hart Lane outfit enjoyed a memorable run to the quarter-finals of Europe's premier competition last season, with Bale one of the stars of the tournament. The Wales international is quick to stress he is happy at White Hart Lane but admits he is desperate to play in the Champions League again. Should Tottenham miss out on a top-four place, the 22-year-old has confessed he may have to rethink his options. "I had a taste of it last season and I enjoyed it thoroughly," said Bale.

Best players

"I think everybody always wants to test themselves against the best players in the world. "We have to wait and see what happens. Obviously if we don't [qualify for Champions League] we'll have to sit down and discuss and see what's best for myself." Spanish giants Barcelona are one of the clubs linked with a move for Bale, something the former Southampton man admits is flattering. However, with Tottenham's top-four hopes still in the balance all he is focusing on the club's last four games of the season. "Obviously it's flattering but at the end of the day I'm still a Tottenham player and I need to keep performing week in week out for not just myself but for the team," he added.
