Loic Remy: Linked to Spurs but insists he will be staying put this month

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp admits he is pessimistic about his chances of a January swoop for Loic Remy.

France international Remy has been a long-term target for Redknapp and reports have suggested he could be the subject of a transfer window bid.

The White Hart Lane tactician travelled to France to watch Remy score both goals in Marseille's 2-0 victory over Lille last Sunday but the player subsequently insisted it is 'out of the question' he will be leaving this month.

Redknapp also does not think the player will be moving to the north Londoners this month as he plots Spurs' title charge.

He said: "People have said he might be available but I don't think they will sell him.

"It was a good performance (last weekend). It probably put another £5-6million on his asking price."
