Tottenham boss thrilled with win over Everton

Harry Redknapp hailed his Tottenham side after they moved to within three points of leaders Manchester City with a 2-0 win over Everton. A goal in each half from Aaron Lennon and Benoit Assou-Ekotto gave Spurs victory at White Hart Lane. Tottenham are now level with Manchester United in second and just three points off leaders City. "We are up there, and in the Champions League mix and we are looking to do that, who knows," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "Nothing is impossible and you have to keep believing, apart from that I enjoy watching us play, if you can't enjoy watching us play you shouldn't watch football. "It was a great win for us, it is always difficult to beat Everton - you never get an easy game with them, and David Moyes had a very attacking looking team out tonight. They started the game well but we got on top and played well, it was a good performance."

Dangerous

Redknapp thought Lennon's opener on the half-hour was crucial. "It was important because they are always dangerous on the break. We needed the goal but once we got it we dominated the game with great passing and played some fantastic football at times," he said. "There are no easy games, every team is tough and we played some great stuff." Jake Livermore started in central midfield for the injured Scott Parker, and Redknapp was full of praise for him. "Jake did fantastic tonight, he did superb, a kid who has come through the youth team," he said. "When I came people said he wouldn't make it - but he could play for anyone, he has been out on loan, but he is getting better and better and is a fantastic boy."
