Defender says he has no interest in leaving White Hart Lane

Kyle Walker says he does not want to leave Tottenham Hotspur - despite reportedly attracting interest from some of the world's biggest clubs. The defender's performances are understood to have caught the attention of several clubs including Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus. Walker signed a contract extension in the summer committing his future to Spurs until 2016 - and that is a contract he intends to honour. He told the Sunday Mirror: "Why would I even consider leaving? It's not even open to debate. I owe a debt of gratitude to the club and the manager, Harry Redknapp, and I couldn't be happier or more grateful. "Besides I am not going to get carried away and I have a good group of people, including my agent, family and friends, who ensure I keep my feet firmly on the ground. "I will never allow myself to get carried away. I am still learning the game and I'm a dedicated student on and off the pitch. "I think you only get out of life what you put in, which is why I stay behind after training and watch every DVD of my games and look to improve every aspect of my game.

Fortunate

"I am extremely fortunate to have players like Michael Dawson and Ledley King at Tottenham, who inspire me to do better. "I also think it's an enormous advantage for me to play in a team that has a very offensive mentality, as I like to get forward when I can. "But, first and foremost, it's my defensive responsibilities that are most important. At this level, there is no room for complacency. "You are up against world-class strikers and they will clinically punish the slightest mistake you make. "The only advantage I have is that I started out life as a striker, so sometimes that gives me a slight advantage because it enables me to second guess what they might do."
