Mark van Bommel will wait until the summer before deciding on his future, according to his agent.
The 33-year-old midfielder arrived at AC Milan from Bayern Munich in January, and the Serie A giants retain the option to extend his five-month deal for a further year.
Should that not materialise, the Holland international is likely to have plenty of alternatives, with Tottenham and former club PSV Eindhoven interested in his services.
But Van Bommel's representative, Mino Raiola, insists the veteran will keep his options open until the end of the season.
"There is still nothing certain - only that PSV are the only Dutch option for him," Raiola told Voetbal International.
"If Milan were deciding today they would keep him. He is a very important player for them.
"But as he only came in the winter window we decided together that only in May would we look to the future."
