Swiss defender holds no fears ahead of crunch tie

Young Boys defender Christoph Spycher believes his side can cause an upset when they take on Tottenham in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round play-offs on Tuesday night. Spurs travel to the Swiss capital Bern with a place in the lucrative group stage at stake, after they finished fourth in the Premier League last season. Tottenham fans were reportedly celebrating when the draw for the qualifying round was made for the two-legged ties. But left-back Spycher has warned the North Londoners not to underestimate Young Boys, as they knocked out Turkish side Fenerbahce in a previous round. "It's great that they were celebrating but, for sure, we hope that after the two games we will be celebrating," he said.

Work hard

"We had little chance against Fenerbahce and we did it. So we believe in ourselves, we believe if we make two really perfect games that we have a chance to get through to the Champions League. "That's a dream for us and we will work very hard for that." Asked if he thought the Tottenham players would be under extra pressure, he added: "I don't think so because they have so many important games in the English championship against the big four. "The players are all playing for their national teams - they have all this pressure - so I think it will not be really special for them." Spycher watched Tottenham's 0-0 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday, and admits they were unlucky not to come out on top. He remarked: "In the first half they had some really unbelievable pressure on Manchester City. Unfortunately, they didn't have the luck to win."
