Paul Ince is hoping to bring Andros Townsend back to MK Dons next week after the winger was recalled by Tottenham Hotspur.
Townsend joined the League One club in January on a deal which was due to run until the end of the season and he has scored twice in nine appearances for Ince's side.
However, he has been summoned back to Tottenham as Harry Redknapp is short of cover for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final tie against Fulham.
The 18-year-old will now miss MK Dons' game against Leyton Orient, where he spent the first half of the season, but Ince aims to re-sign Townsend next week.
"Harry's asked to have Andros back, which is a blow for Saturday, but hopefully it's just for one game," Ince told the club's official website.
"They've got a few injuries at the moment and it's a chance for the kid to be involved in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
"He's been outstanding for us since he came in, he's given us something fresh and different out wide and I'm sure he would have loved to have played against Orient, having been on loan there earlier this season.
"But we'll have to deal with it now and hopefully we can get him back at some point next week. If not for Swindon, then for Brentford next Saturday."
