Exeter City have failed to agree a deal to extend the loan deal of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Archibald-Henville.
The defender had spent the first half of the season on loan at St James Park and he had made 17 appearances for the Grecians.
He also enjoyed a spell at the club last term and Exeter boss Paul Tisdale was keen to keep Archibald-Henville until the end of the season.
Tisdale held talks with Spurs regarding an extension, but the League One club have confirmed there was no positive outcome to the discussions.
Archibald-Henville is now due to return to White Hart Lane on Monday, leaving Tisdale to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements before the close of the transfer window.
