Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia has slammed Tottenham for the 'methods' they have used to try and sign Kenwyne Jones.

Spurs revealed over the weekend that they wanted to sign the Trinidad and Tobago international.

Sbragia is insistent he does not want to sell Jones, even though reports suggested he was contemplating letting the player leave in a possible exchange for Darren Bent.

But the Black Cats boss has been left far from happy with counterpart Harry Redknapp.

"They (Tottenham) have enquired about him but it's the methods they use which is disappointing," Sbragia told Sunderland's website.

He is also worried that Tottenham's approach could unsettle the former Southampton man.

"A lot has appeared in the papers but the main concern is that it does not get into the player's head and that his performances for us don't dip," he said.
