Tottenham boss keen to 'forgive and forget'

Harry Redknapp has told Tottenham Hotspur fans that it is time to 'forgive and forget' with Hossam Ghaly. The midfielder angered Spurs followers on his last appearance for the club in May 2007 when he threw his shirt to the floor and stormed off the pitch after being subbed, having entered the game 30 minutes earlier as a replacement. The Egyptian was booed as he warmed up among the substitutes in the FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic on Friday, but he did not play in the game. Ghaly, though, could feature in Spurs' Carling Cup semi-final first-leg clash with Burnley on Tuesday and manager Redknapp is urging fans to offer the 27-year-old another chance. "I didn't know the full story but I don't think he was being disrespectful to Tottenham," Redknapp - who joined Spurs in October - told the club's official website. "He'd been subbed as a sub and was annoyed with the manager more than anything. It wasn't right that he threw his shirt down but the kid made a mistake and we all make mistakes. It's time to forgive and forget."
