Harry Redknapp has revealed that Alan Hutton could be sidelined for 'quite a long time' due to injury.
The Scottish right-back has not travelled with the rest of the squad ahead of Tottenham's Uefa Cup game against NEC Nijmegen on Thursday.
Hutton, who missed the 1-0 victory over Blackburn on Sunday, has a foot problem and Redknapp is anxious about how long he could be out.
The Spurs boss is also set to rest defensive duo Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King for the Group D match in Holland.
"We have picked up one or two injuries," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
"Alan Hutton has picked up an injury that could keep him out for quite a long time.
"We have to be careful with the squad, which is why there are quite a few players, like Ledley and Jonathan Woodgate, who I won't be taking chances with tomorrow."
Redknapp may take the opportunity to look at a number of fringe players against NEC and he hopes the club can start to produce more youngsters.
He said: "I have brought some of the youngsters along. It is a great experience for them and I am looking forward to getting to know a few of them a bit better.
"It is about time we started getting a few players through the ranks at Tottenham. It hasn't happened for a long time."
