Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes Darren Bent deserves to be called up to the England squad.
Bent scored a hat-trick in Spurs' Uefa Cup win over Dinamo Zagreb last week and then struck twice against Manchester City on Sunday.
Roman Pavlyuchenko and Fraizer Campbell also netted two apiece in the Carling Cup clash with Liverpool as Bent was rested, and Redknapp admits he is delighted with the form of all his strikers.
Fabio Capello is currently considering his options ahead of England's friendly against Germany and Redknapp feels Bent is performing well enough to be included.
"He's bang in form," Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "He scored five goals last week, great finishes, and his confidence is sky high at the moment.
"I would love to see him get the opportunity to be called up into the England squad."
Redknapp added: "I have given him the opportunity to play and encouraged him. Maybe it is difficult if you feel that if you don't score you will be out (of the team).
"I think maybe you need a little run to give you a bit of confidence.
"But the other two lads (Campbell and Pavlyuchenko) have also done well as well. They have scored when they have come in so it's all good."
Redknapp thinks a number of other Spurs players have the quality to break back into Capello's side.
He said: "David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas, Ledley King, if he was fit, Jonathan Woodgate - he is another England player in my opinion."
