Luka Modric has paid tribute to Harry Redknapp for turning Tottenham's fortunes around.
Spurs were adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table when Redknapp replaced Juande Ramos but they have moved out of the bottom three following victories over Bolton, Liverpool and Manchester City and a draw with Arsenal.
Modric believes Redknapp deserves much of the credit and has praised the manager's motivational skills.
"Harry likes to speak with every single player. He gives them confidence to go out and play good football," the Croatian told the Daily Star.
"He always tells us that we are good players and it makes it easier when you have that confidence."
Modric had started the season slowly following his summer move from Dinamo Zagreb but has been in fine form in recent weeks.
He has been entrusted with a key attacking role and is confident he will continue to go from strength to strength as he adjusts to the demands of English football.
"Personally I'm getting used to the game here all the time and I hope I can keep getting better," he said.
"I like to play offensive midfield and like to be on the ball or near the ball all the time so I can be involved.
"That's the position I like to play and it's important to me. I feel like I can do my best in that position."
Modric is desperate for Tottenham to keep climbing the table but realises that the players cannot afford to relax.
"The spirit is good and confidence is high but we have a lot more hard work to do yet," he commented.
"We need to keep winning matches and have big games coming up.
"I hope we can keep going and with the confidence we have we can keep getting good results."
John Bostock, meanwhile, has set his sights on becoming a regular member of the squad.
The 16-year-old midfielder made his debut in last week's Uefa Cup clash with Dinamo Zagreb and could be given another opportunity in Wednesday's Carling Cup game against Liverpool.
"I have been scoring a few goals for the reserves," he said.
"I want to stay in and around the squad and show the manager that I should be pushing for a place in the squad."
