Spurs have stated they will not rush first-choice right-back Alan Hutton back into action early.
The former Rangers stopper is currently on the sidelines with the stress fracture in his right foot he suffered during pre-season training in Spain.
Manager Juande Ramos was forced to play Didier Zokora at right-back in their opening day defeat at Middlesbrough, but the club are not looking to rush Hutton back into contention.
"We are being extra cautious and scanning his foot on a regular basis," said Spurs head of medical services Wayne Diesel told the club's official website.
"Alan is progressing well, he is able to do light conditioning work, but we will not rush him back nor put a time scale on his recovery."
