Nene makes Spurs claim

Skysports.com understand there is no interest from Spurs in Monaco's Nene, despite the player's claims.

Monaco's Brazilian star could be on the move

Monaco star Nene claims he has had contact with both Tottenham and Roma, although skysports.com understand there is no interest from the Premier League club. Spurs were linked with the highly-rated Brazilian last month and now he claims he has been in touch with both the North London club and also Roma. However, skysports.com understand that Nene is not on Juande Ramos' list of possible signings before the transfer window closes. Nene, a left-sided forward, started for Monaco in their opening Ligue 1 clash of the season as they defeated Paris Saint Germain but he may not be staying in the Principality for much longer. The 27-year-old, who has a Spanish passport and so would not need a work permit to play in the Premier League, says there is a good chance he could soon be on the move. When asked whether he knew of interest from Tottenham and Roma, he claimed to Jornal do Brazil: "I have had contacts with representatives of those two clubs. "They asked Monaco about my situation and about the chance of transferring me, so there is a possibility that an official offer could be made in the coming days."

Ramos impression

Nene has spent most of his career playing in Spanish football with Real Mallorca, Alaves and Celta Viga, and he says he thinks he will have made a good impression on Spurs boss Juande Ramos. "I always played very well against Sevilla and I created some goals," he continued. "This should have left Juande with a good impression and now my name is on their list of signings." On Roma's interest, he said: "Roma played a friendly against Monaco here in the Principality and that is when the first contact was. "They told me that they are waiting to see if they are confirming Julio Baptista and then they would return for me."
