Spurs full-back heads out on loan

Fulham have signed Paul Stalteri on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, who could still bring in Gilberto before the transfer deadline. Canadian full-back Stalteri has made just three Premier League appearances for Spurs this season and has been allowed out on loan by Juande Ramos. He has headed across London to continue Roy Hodgson's drastic overhaul of struggling Fulham's squad in January. Stalteri moved to White Hart Lane from Werder Bremen in 2005, but has been unable to establish himself as a first-team regular. Meanwhile, Spurs could yet finalise a deal for Brazil international Gilberto after Hertha snapped up Rudi Skacel from Southampton. Hertha confirmed earlier on Thursday that Gilberto's proposed move to North London had fallen through due to a medical issue. But reports in Germany now claim that the left-back, who is out of contract at the end of the season, could join the Premier League club before the transfer window closes. Further reports have claimed that Tottenham full-back Pascal Chimbonda could join Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season.
