Mido: Struggling for fitness
Middlesbrough striker Mido and on-loan Derby County midfielder Hossam Ghaly have been left out of Egypt's squad for the African Cup of Nations.
Mido has not played for Boro since October because of a groin injury, while Ghaly secured a loan move from Tottenham Hotspur to Derby after failing to feature for Spurs this season.
The Egypt Football Association has said it would allow Ghaly to concentrate on his new club rather than play in Ghana.
Egypt play their first Group C match against Cameroon in Kumasi on 22nd January.
