Ajax defender Urby Emanuelson is a target for Tottenham, according to the player's agent.
Spurs boss Juande Ramos is weighing up his options as he ponders bolstering his squad when the transfer window reopens next month.
Ramos could be in the market for a new left-back with Gareth Bale facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.
Emanuelson is regarded as one of the best young players in Europe having come through the famed Ajax youth ranks.
The 21-year-old's agent Brian Birkleef claims Spurs have approached him about Emanuelson and that the player is interested in a switch in January.
Possibility"I have been rung, but I referred them to Ajax," Berkleef told Dutch daily De Telegraaf.
"Yes, he certainly sees a move in January as a possibility."
Meanwhile, Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes he is close to recapturing his best form.
Robinson impressed in helping Tottenham reach the Carling Cup semi-finals with victory over Manchester City and the England international says he is regaining his confidence after a dip in form.
"I was very pleased with how I played - my form is coming back," said Robinson. "I did have a dip in confidence and it affected my performances a little bit.
"But my confidence is coming back to me now and I think people can see from my performances that I'm getting back to my best."
